Denise Riches is a contemporary acrylic painter living in Irvine, California. Denise realized her love for painting during her college years while studying interior design at Saddleback College. Later devoting her time to raising three children, her artistic journey was placed on hold. But in 2009, a personal life event compelled her to return to her passion for creating colorful works of art and she immersed herself in the world of mixed media. Denise developed her craft through workshops with local artists, self-study courses, and the intimate connection she feels when engaged with the canvas. She is also an avid art journaler and photographer with a focus on heart-shaped objects found in nature. This blog reflects her thoughts and feelings as the creative process unfolds and she navigates discoveries, success and disappointment on this creative journey.
